The Surrey 21-year-old will play in an overseas league for the first time - a reward for his T20 Blast performances
Hobart Hurricanes have confirmed the signing of Will Jacks for the entirety of the Big Bash League.
The 21-year-old will make his first outing in an overseas T20 competition as a result of the move.
Jacks was named T20 Blast MVP for 2020 after his contributions for eventual runners-up Surrey.
He scored 309 runs and took 13 wickets as the south London club reached the final, where they were beaten by champions Notts Outlaws.
"I am incredibly excited about joining the Hurricanes," he said. "I’ve heard from other English players how good the Big Bash is and I’m looking forward to the opportunity.
"We managed to reach the final of the T20 Blast at home this summer, so I’m looking forward to hopefully going one step further with Hobart."
Head coach Adam Griffth added: "Will is an exciting young player who is coming off a very successful T20 Blast in the UK.
"He gives us great flexibility in our batting group, as he can open the batting, or finish the innings batting in the middle order.
"His off-spin bowling also adds another dimension to his game."
Two-time beaten finalists Hurricanes are led by Matthew Wade and also have Dawid Malan, D'Arcy Short and James Faulkner in their ranks for the 10th edition of the tournament.
