A new venue has been sought with Emirates Old Trafford being used as a bio-secure venue for behind-closed-doors international cricket
Lancashire and Nottinghamshire's upcoming Bob Willis Trophy match has been moved to Trent Bridge, the England and Wales Cricket Board have confirmed.
The match during the third round of the red-ball competition was scheduled to take place at Emirates Old Trafford, starting on August 15.
But with the ground having been used as a bio-secure venue during the international summer, the ECB want to protect that status amid the coronavirus pandemic.
An ECB statement added: "Lancashire and Nottinghamshire agreed the move to safeguard and protect the bio-security of Emirates Old Trafford as a host for behind-closed-doors international cricket this summer."
Despite the change of venue, Lancs will remain at the designated home team for the clash.
Worcestershire's New Road hosted Lancashire's opening home game of the campaign against Leicestershire, which the Foxes won by seven wickets.
The Manchester venue - which along with The Ageas Bowl has hosted all of England's home matches this year - is due to host three T20s between England and Pakistan on August 28, 30 and September 1.
A further limited-overs series against Australia is also in the pipeline for later in the season.
